Contemporary Rhyme | News

(2/28/08) I am taking a break from editing. When I am ready to accept submissions again, I will post an announcement here in the news section of the website.

M.L. McCarthy's print Candelabrum Poetry Magazine continues to publish excellent rhymed poetry in every issue. I hope you will consider supporting this fine journal with a paid subscription. The cost is £6 (U.S. $12) for a two-issue annual subscription. U.S. subscribers should pay in U.S. dollar bills to avoid the high bank charges associated with overseas checks. Mail your order to: Candelabrum Poetry Magazine/M.L. McCarthy, Editor/The Red Candle Press/1 Chatsworth Court/Outram Road/SOUTHSEA/PO5 1RA/England.

Now, where's that Corona...

(2/10/08) Three poetry collections have recently crossed my desk, all by contributors to the winter issue of CR. Lee Evans' second collection, Maryland Weather, is now on sale at lulu.com. Philip Higson's Rollinat: Poems from Les Néuroses is available from the translator for £5 (or the U.S. dollar equivalent); his Sonnets to My Goddess, Picture Poems and D'Annunzio: Translations Selected and Introduced can be had at the same price. Orders should be mailed to Philip Higson/1 Westlands Avenue/Newcastle-under-Lyme/Staffordshire/ST5 2PU/England. Finally, complimentary copies of Eric Martin's new volume, The Death of Orpheus, and Other Poems, Original and Translated may be obtained by contacting the author at 42 Winter Street/Presque Isle, Maine 04769/USA or by e-mail at emart40x@yahoo.com.

I'd also like to mention that Paul Fraleigh's recordings of "Metaphor" and "The Music of the Seasons" have been added into the winter issue. Enjoy!
